今日、ゆーがと旅するところは、カイロです～
イスラム建築を代表するモスクが一堂に会する「千の塔の都」。モスクの数は年代を超え300以上とか！
カイロは7世紀後半イスラム帝国が築いた軍営都市に始まり、ナイル川下流の交通の要衝として発展、
イスラム世界の学術・文化・経済の中心都市となり中世には最盛期を迎えました。
世界遺産登録は、1979年。
ナイル川の西側には、ギザの３大ピラミッドとスフィンクス。並ぶ3つのピラミッドは、大きい方から順に、クフ王のピラミッド、その子、カフラー王のピラミッド、また、そのカフラーの子、メンカウラー王のピラミッド。
守護神スフィンクスは、頭部が人間、胴体がライオン。
「モカッタムの丘」には、軍事拠点として建てられた「シタデル（城塞）」があり、
市内が一望できる、まさに絶景ポイント！
ターメイヤ（そら豆コロッケ）（写真左）や
主食のアエーシ（円いエジプトパン）は、一度食べたら病みつき！
Today, Yuga is traveling to Cairo~ The "City of a Thousand Towers" where representative mosques of Islamic architecture gather.
The number of mosques exceeds 300, spanning different eras!
Cairo began as a military city established by the Islamic Empire in the late 7th century and developed as a vital hub for transportation along the lower reaches of the Nile River.
It became the central city of academia, culture, and economy in the Islamic world, reaching its peak in the medieval period.
It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. On the west bank of the Nile, there are the three great pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. The three pyramids, in order of size, are the Pyramid of Khufu, the pyramid of his son, Khafre, and the pyramid of Khafre's son, Menkaure. The guardian deity, the Sphinx, has a human head and a lion body.
On the "Mokattam Hill," there is a "Citadel" built as a military base, offering a panoramic view of the city—a truly breathtaking viewpoint! Ta'ameya (Egyptian falafel) (pictured on the left) and the staple food, Aish (round Egyptian bread), are addictive once you taste them!
