乾燥した南側と湿った北側の気候の違いが、ユニークな動植物体系を生み出し、
その美しさが芸術・文学を高めた点も評価されています。
そこにひとたび足を踏み入れると、現実とは思えない幻想的な景色と静寂さに、心うたれます。
23㎞も続くアレッチ氷河には、厚さが900mを超える場所もあるのですが、
もっぱら懸念されているのは地球温暖化です。
過去5年で10％も消失したとか！
